Peppermint Frozen Hot Chocolate Recipe

There's something a little awkward about drinking hot chocolate at the holidays when it's still 80 degrees in Los Angeles. So why not take those flavors and turn them into an icy treat!

This recipe is for one glass of chocolatey goodness!

Ingredients
1 1/2 c of whole milk
1 package of hot chocolate mix
1 peppermint candy
3 cups of ice
whipped cream (canned or fresh)

Preparation
Heat 1/2 c of milk in a saucepan. Add in hot chocolate mix and peppermint candy. Don't worry if the candy doesn't fully dissolve.

Transfer hot chocolate to a blender and add in the additional cup of milk and the ice. Blend baby blend.

Pour into a tall glass or goblet and top with whipped cream!

Garnish with shaved chocolate, crushed peppermint or fun candy toppers!

Snow Angel Cupcakes

Ingredients

1 box of Angel Food Cake Mix
1 1/4 c water

For Frosting:
2 sticks (1cup) of butter, softened
6 cups of confectioners sugar
1/2 cup of whole milk
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups of shredded coconut, sweetened

Preparation

Preheat oven to 375.

In a large mixing bowl, beat cake mix and water with electric mixer for 30 seconds on a low speed. Kick things up and beat the mix on a medium speed for 1 more minute.

Pour batter into lined cupcake trays, filling about 3/4 of the way.

Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the tops of the cupcakes are golden brown and cracks form on top. Remove from baking tray and let cool on a rack.

While the cupcakes are cooling, it's time to whip up the frosting.

Place butter in a large mixing bowl. Add 4 cups of sugar, then milk and vanilla. Beat on a medium speed until smooth and creamy, about 3-5 minutes. Gradually add in the remaining sugar.

Spread a thick layer of frosting on cooled cupcakes. Cover frosting with shredded coconut and top with Treat Street Holiday Treat Topper.
