Protein Packed Peanut Butter Banana Bowl

Last week I had a chance to check out The Harvest Bar in Sherman Oaks. This Superfood Cafe, tucked into a small shopping complex along Ventura is turning out some of the freshest and healthiest concoctions in the city! From Acai to Quinoa Bowls, this beach-side community trend has finally made it's way inland, and it is delicious! 

I had the opportunity to try the Sweet Greens Smoothie packed with kale, spinach, banana, spirulina, dates (omitted in mine so my throat didn't close up), chia seeds, acai, and apple juice. This was definitely the way to ease into the greens!

Next up was the Paradise Bowl. The florescent pink color is enough to tempt anyone's tastebuds! This bowl is a blend of strawberry, pitaya ( pink dragonfruit), banana, and apple juice topped with granola, fresh strawberries, fresh pineapple and yummy shredded coconut!

To round out the feast, I had the PB & Banana Bowl which packs a whopping 28 grams of protein... in a small!! A blend of peanut butter, acai, banana, cocao nibs, hemp protein, dates (again, not in mine), and hemp milk topped off with insanely yummy granola, fresh bananas, blueberries, and more cacao nibs. This bowl was so stinkin good I just had to get the recipe.... you're welcome ;-)

PB Banana Bowl from The Harvest Bar

1 pack of acai
1/2 cup frozen banana
4 tbsp peanut butter
2 tsp hemp protein powder
2 tsp hemp milk (almond milk works too)
3 whole pitted dates

Blend ingredients together,  then add 1 cup loose ice cubes and 2 tsp cacao nibs, blend again until the consistency of ice cream.

Top with: granola (1 tbsp) , sliced fresh banana, fresh blueberries and cacao nibs.
