When my husband and I first moved to Los Angeles, we had only a few people that we knew out here. However, it wasn't long before we found ourselves surrounded by the most loving and supportive group of friends we could have ever asked for. You know those friends who you spend an outrageous amount of time with, who you quickly learn everything about, and who you can't imagine how on earth you ever survived without them in your life, yeah, we ended up with those. Score!
Needless to say we adopted the term "Framily" before it was on every TV commercial because sometimes you have friends that are more like family than those in your own bloodline. There is something very special about the people who gather around your table, sharing great food and good conversation.
Anyway, enough gushing! We started this tradition of hosting Sunday "Framily" Dinner. We had this awesome group of people from all over the world, the Northwest, Northeast, France, even a few native Angelinos! I would whip up a different dish (or two) every week and we would hang out, eat, play games and watch the Sunday night line-up on ABC...before Once Upon A Time got all crazy.
Check out the slideshow at the top of the post for a collection of recipes that are perfect for you to create your own "Sunday Framily Dinner" including a few dishes that have graced our table from time to time!
