Won Ton of Giving from Bibigo!


As the holidays rapidly approach it is easy for us to forget about the important things this time of year is supposed to recall. We walk by the Salvation Army Bell-Ringer thinking, “I’ll donate next time”... we blow our gift budgets on electronics we don’t really need and we stuff our faces with delicious food while there are still so many hungry. 


 

I recently caught wind of this pretty interesting campaign from CJ Foods, Korea’s number one food company and producer of delicious, frozen foods. They are giving back to the L.A. community with the launch of its CJ Bibigo “Won Ton of Giving” campaign. The campaign encourages visitors and fans of the CJ Foods Facebook page to join CJ Foods in raising awareness and supporting hunger relief efforts throughout Greater Los Angeles by simply choosing to “Like” the brand’s page. Upon reaching the goal of mobilizing 3,000+ fans, the company will donate one ton—or more than 91,000 CJ Bibigo Mini Wontons—to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.

The “Won Ton of Giving” campaign playfully celebrates the recent launch of CJ Bibigo Mini Wontons. Made the Korean way with fresh ingredients in delicate, thin wrappers, these wontons are filled with savory mixtures of vegetables and meat, and contain no artificial flavors. The mini wontons are fully-cooked and can be pan-fried, added to soup or boiled, and are available in three varieties, including Chicken & Vegetable, Chicken & Cilantro and Pork & Vegetable. You can find them at Fresh & Easy and Costco stores here on the West Coast and will be in traditional grocery and national specialty stores nationwide early next year.I decided to take a stab at working these little wontons I received into a new recipe that super simple and of course, delicious!
Here’s What You Need:
4 Cups of chicken or vegetable broth
Bok Choy
Green Onions
Shiitake Mushrooms
1 Tbsp Sweet Soy Sauce
1 tsp Sambal
1 Cup shredded chicken (optional)

Here’s What You Do:

Add in all the ingredients except wontons into a large pot.

Simmer until mushrooms and bok choy are tender.

Add in frozen wontons until tender, about 2 minutes and serve!

Told ya that was easy!
